Update

Hi, all! I have good news to report! My nephew's surgery went very well last Friday, he is home resting now and doing great! The doctor was very positive, he said he believes that the cancer has not spread because it was caught at a very early stage, and pending the pathology report, he may not need any further treatment. They had told him originally that he would need to follow up surgery with radiation treatments, and that's still a posibility, however, the surgeon was about 99.9% sure it wouldn't be necessary. The surgeon also said that the doctor who sent Josh for the ultrasound that discovered the tumors should be highly commended. He said that normally a man would not even know he had these tumors for about three or four more years, when they would have gotten big enough to cause discomfort. This doctor just didn't like the way things "looked" and had a feeling that something was wrong. (I guess he really knows his calling in life, wouldn't you say?) We will all be eternally thankful for his insight or divine intervention, whatever you want to call it!

I spoke to Josh and he was in very good spirits, he said he was tired of Lance Armstrong getting all the "attention" and it was his turn to be in the "spotlight", HA! Glad he has maintained his sense of humor, I guess you have to with a situation like this.

Thank you all so much for your prayers (I knew you'd come through for me) and for all the sweet messages you left, I'm truly touched by how kind and thoughtful you are! This blogging community is incredibly supportive and loving, and I'm very thankful!

Hope you all had a great weekend, and wishing those of you who celebrate it, a Happy St. Patrick's Day! I have a really hellish week coming up, lots of things to do to prepare for Easter weekend (we're hosting a family brunch), shopping, cleaning, cooking, all sorts of appointments, baseball games, school and church functions to attend,..crazy!! I may not be blogging very much, but I'll try. Have a good day everyone!

Oh that is wonderful news for you nephew, I will keep praying that he doesn't need further treatment. And I totally agree with him on the Lance Armstrong thing! Scott Hamilton (figure skater) also had it, your nephew is in with the big boys:-)

Hope you survive your busy week!

I am SO GLAD to read the news of your nephew's successful surgery!!!! That won't stop the prayers from this end, though. And I'm warning you...you will miss it if you don't blog; no matter how busy you are, you WILL miss it and us. I sure did after my weenie-wielding weekend! :)

So, basically, I agree with Hallie.

Glad to hear the good news! Good luck with your hectic week, it feels great to finally sit down afterwards! I am actually done with my hosting, but onto Easter and the festivities included and then spring break...never a dull moment, but would ya have it any other way? Have a good week Lizzy, sorry I haven't been around much.

Waiting to hear about something like this is like holding your breath under water. Painful. Scary. But when you come out--pure relief.
